Evan Rachel Soroka | Photographer & Visual Storyteller
Most photographers bring technical skill and a good eye. What I bring is something harder to name: years of learning how to be present with people, to earn trust in unfamiliar rooms, to notice what someone isn't saying. That came from a life lived across disciplines and continents long before I ever made photography my primary work.
A type 1 diabetes diagnosis at 13 sent me toward yoga, meditation, and philosophy, and eventually into a serious practice as a yoga teacher and therapist. I studied Anthropology and Spanish/Portuguese Literature at the University of Colorado Boulder, spent years living and working in Brazil and Argentina, and authored "Yoga Therapy for Diabetes" (Singing Dragon, 2021). Working closely with hundreds of people through something real and difficult taught me, consistently, how to find what is true in a person or a place and how to hold it carefully.
That is the eye I bring to my creative work now. Based in Aspen, Colorado, I work as a photographer, content creator, and visual strategist for events, brands, institutions, editorial contexts, and local clients. As Digital Media Manager at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, I oversee photography, video, and how visual content reaches and resonates with an audience. The work is always both artistically considered and genuinely useful.
If that kind of attention is what your project needs, I'd love to hear from you.
